Hello lovely readers! Well, I gotta tell ya … I am loving cleaning this way! I never thought I’d hear myself say that, but it feels like my house is clean all the time and I haven’t spent all day doing it.
If you’re catching up, you can join the challenge here
Today is Day 2 of our 30-day cleaning challenge:
Clean bathrooms – toilet, shower/bathtub, floor, walls, mirrors
I have 1 1/2 bathrooms, and I started with the biggest one. I sprayed the shower tiles and bathtub with all purpose cleaning solution and gave them a good scrub
making sure to clean the taps and around the edges where dirt seems to accumulate.
Once it was clean, I rinsed it off with the shower head.
Next, the shelving above the toilet got a good wipe down – you’d be amazed at how dusty it gets.
And topped up the towels and extra toilet roll (nothing worse than running out while doing your, er, business!)
And also put a fresh roll on the holder (am I the only one in my family who does this?)
It was the toilet’s turn next. The inside of the bowl got a good swoosh with the toilet brush
And then the rim, outside of the bowl, the bottom, the seat and the lid all got a good cleaning as did the cistern and flushing handle.
After dusting the lights and the light cover
I moved all the stuff on one half of the counter to the other side and cleaned it
And did the same with the other half, making sure that I paid special attention to the grooves around the basin (uugh)
And around and in between the taps
If you have a tooth mug or a toothbrush holder, fill it with cleaning solution or dish soap and let it stand for a bit before cleaning it out and rinsing it. Or … you can wash it in the dishwasher, if you have one.
Lastly, the mirror and the floor
When the floor was dry, I emptied the garbage bin, straightened the towels and switched out the bath mat to a clean one. Aaaand … done!
The half bathroom got the same treatment, but it took half the time
That’s it for today! See you tomorrow for Day 3!
