Fairy Garden

HellOoooo my bloggy friends! Today I thought I would take a break from the 30-Day Cleaning Challenge to update my fairy garden and my Mantle.

In January (gosh, was it that long ago?) I found this photo on Pinterest

And fell in love.

Of course, I couldn’t duplicate it exactly, because I didn’t have all the stuff, but I made my version of it, which was definitely an improvement. Click here to read more about this. This is what it looked like back then.

But then, Hubby was cleaning up the front porch over the weekend, and took down this wooden sailboat to clean it

and I had an idea. I moved a few things around and put the flowers in my office, and …

I’m sure I’ll be tweaking it again, but for now – I love it!

You may remember that I started my fairy garden in the front garden bed in an area where nothing grows. Click here to refresh your memory. This is what it looked like then

I thought that would be the perfect place for it … except the plants died (as I said, nothing grows here), and no matter what I did to it, it just looked kinda blah. So I moved some of it to the back yard where it looked much happier. Click here for the full post on this. Here it is looking much happier 🙂

So today I moved the rest of the pieces and had a lovely little time getting them settled into their new home

That stalk of grass would have had lovely, lush leaves on it by now, but my cat thought that I had planted it just for her to eat! Grrr.

It’s starting to look pretty good. I think I need a couple of fairies next!

And that brings me to my new venture. I love making things for my home. It gives it a unique feel that’s all my own. I’ve made and painted my own place mats and throw pillow covers. pillow cases and the like, and made some for Christmas presents as well. Last week, I painted some coffee mugs and a tea cup with some simple designs that I love

Cat Mug

Haha – this one’s my favourite! 🙂

I posted them on my FaceBook page, and before long, I had people asking me where I had bought them from. This gave me the idea to sell them right here on my Blog. So once my Shop page has been perfected, and I have all the payment and shipping stuff figured out, I’ll be displaying these and more for sale – hopefully next week. I’m so excited! I love making things for people.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
