Meal Planning: Weekly dinner plan-week 21

Hello Meal Planners! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was perfect here and we spend a lot of time outdoors enjoying barbecues and various friends’ houses. Bliss! No cooking or washing dishes in this household for 2 days!

A meal plan is a great way to save money at the grocery store and solves the daily question “what’s for dinner?” It also save loads of time in the evenings after work. My favourite part. I use a Google spread sheet for my menu plans, but you can use whatever you feel comfortable with or what works for you – a simple notebook, a scrap of paper tacked to the fridge, or you can find some meal-planning notebooks here.

If you’re new to meal planning, check out my post as to how to get started, here, and if you would like to see some of the previous weeks’ dinner plans, click here.

But first …

Saturday was Canada Day here, and so I thought it would be only fitting to feature a cocktail made for that day. I found one for every province in Canada, but this one looked to be the yummiest.

saskatchewan cocktailThe Hotel Saskatchewan Cocktail

2 oz (60 ml) Canadian Club
3/4 oz (22 ml) Honey Syrup (recipe follows)
3/4 oz (22 ml) lemon juice
lemon zest for garnish

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Twist a lemon zest over the drink and use as a garnish.

2/3 cup (150 ml) honey
1/3 cup (75 ml) hot water

Stir to combine. Cool before use. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

And here’s this week’s dinner plan:

Monday – Chilled Italian Shrimp & Tortellini Pasta Salad

Tuesday – Turkey Burgers with Zucchini

Wednesday  – Aloha Teriyaki Shrimp Burgers

Thursday – Simple Mediterranean Olive Oil Pasta

Friday – Easy Mediterranean Shrimp

Saturday –  Steak on the Barbecue, Mediterranean three-Bean SaladMediterranean Strawberry Orzo Pasta Salad

Sunday – Italian Skillet Chicken with Tomatoes and Mushrooms

Enjoy! And have a wonderful week.
