Hello everyone! It’s Monday and I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I did quite a bit of much-needed relaxing and chick-flick watching.
Well I think I have my new office done – for now. In September last year, my son and his little family moved back to Vancouver from Edmonton and stayed with us while they got on their feet. Two weeks ago they moved into a place of their own, so I decided to make that room my new office.
It’s a nice-sized little space – just for me! 🙂
Of course, I had to move Floyd, the Ball Python in.
There she is, curled up in the bottom right-hand corner. She had been stuck downstairs in the dining area, previously, which made it a bit of a challenge for the rest of us to get in an out of there.
Then my desk, of course. This desk was originally our kitchen table a couple of lifetimes ago and is perfect for this purpose (I love repurposing stuff)
Hubby painted it white to make it look more … office-y
I’m hoping to find a new, more comfortable chair but for now, that one will have to do.
Next, a chair that I rescued from a dumpster. No, I didn’t actually get into the dumpster – the chair was sitting next to it looking sad and rejected. We fixed it up and re-covered it. You can read about that transformation here. And an Ikea footstool that I found at a thrift store for … $5! I used an old wooden trunk as a side table – this was originally at the end of our bed (now I need a new bench for that!). I am debating whether to paint it white, or leave it as is. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
The idea behind this was that, when it got too uncomfortable to sit at my desk, I could continue working in this comfortable chair, but, as you can see, my cat seems to have claimed that spot for herself.
And then I just added a few pictures that I love
And a clock that I made from a wooden Ikea fruit bowl that I found at a thrift store (it needs new hands)
I needs quite a bit more doing to it, but for now, it’s my space and I LOVE it.
Cheers for now.
