Hello Vegetarian Lovers (and a few meat lovers too),
How are you all? I made a concerted effort to lose weight last week and lost … 3 lbs! I was ecstatic. After not being able to lose a thing since I quit smoking 4 years ago.
I’ve been making better food choices on weekends and at restaurants. So, instead of stuffing my face with chips and popcorn while watching a movie on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, I’ve opted for a sandwich, or avocado toast with hummus instead of butter, and I’ve ordered soup at restaurants. I added a scoop of protein powder to my fruit smoothie every morning which kept me full until lunch time, thus eliminating the snack at 10:00 am, and I’ve been having soup for lunch every day instead of last night’s leftovers. For supper, it’s been mostly meatless meals and I’m pretty sure that contributed enormously to the weight loss. On the nights we’ve been having the meatless meals, I haven’t had the craving for sweets after supper. I still have my glass of wine every evening, or a tequila shot mixed with no-calorie cranberry soda. I refuse to give up my drink in the evening.
So, this is what this week’s menu looks like:
Monday : Crispy Tofu Stirfy with Udon Noodles
Wednesday : Vegetarian Pizza
Thursday : Ikea Meatballs with pasta sauce and spaghetti
Friday : Cajun Chicken Pasta
Saturday: Out 🙂
Sunday: Potato Leek Soup
