Hello everyone! I know, it’s been a while since my last post. We’ve all been sick which halted everything for a few weeks.
Hubby had a mild heart attack last week. His cardiologist is baffled as to why it happened as tests showed he has the heart of an athlete – although he still needs to lost some weight to take the strain off his heart.
Shortly after this, we watched a documentary on Netflix called The Game Changers. It really opened my eyes to see how meat and dairy adversely affects our bodies, and the many misconceptions around carbohydrates and protein. Conditions like heart disease, diabetes are completely preventable and can be reversed by eating less meat and more plant-based foods. To read more about this, click here.
And so we decided to eat a completely plant-based meal plan using the delicious-looking recipes from that website and from our favourite vegan website Bad Manners (formerly Thug Kitchen).
We have nothing to lose, right? Except weight and hundreds of dollars a month of all the pills hubby’s on for his heart. And we have everything to gain.
We’ve taken our weight and blood pressure, and will compare them again in 7 days. Follow along with us and see how we do.
